John Paul Rome Jr. is the Assistant Superintendent of Operations for St. Charles Parish Public Schools in Luling, Louisiana.
In his current position, John is responsible for everything related to facilities within the school system, including new construction, renovations, custodial services, maintenance services, and school safety. He is indirectly in charge of technology, athletics, transportation, child nutrition, and distribution. In total, John directly or indirectly supervises over 400 employees. His annual department budget averages $35 million per fiscal year.
John’s leadership roles include President of the Louisiana School Facilities Managers’ Association and President of the National School Plant Managers’ Association (NSPMA). He currently serves on the boards of both associations. He is currently Vice President of the NSPMA and will serve his second term as President during the 2025-2026 school year.
John is a lifetime educator dedicated to creating a functional, well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and safe environment conducive to teaching and student learning.
