Randy Morales has been working in Education since 2012 and has served in multiple roles for Facilities. Before joining the education field, Randy worked for a General Contractor building residential homes, completing commercial and residential renovations. He was also self-employed, where his company provided residential maintenance and renovations. Upon joining the Facilities Education field at Iberville Parish School System, Randy started as a carpenter, where he worked for one year and then served as a Maintenance Supervisor for the next six years. Randy was then promoted to Facilities Director, where he served for three years.
In September of 2022, Randy became the Chief of Physical Plant for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, where he is currently employed. Since his employment, Randy has worked diligently to collect facility data and information to understand the needs and responsibilities of the department, overseeing 107 sites. Many of the challenges discovered include but are not limited to more than 1 billion dollars in deferred maintenance, buildings with an average age of 53 years old, end-of-lifecycle materials such as roofs and playgrounds, and many safety and security concerns. Randy has since started creating a strategic plan to provide solutions and a plan for the identified needs and concerns. As a member of multiple facility organizations, Randy is always eager to learn from and collaborate with others for professional growth and to enhance the education system.
